Exploring the things that make us the best we can be

No More Technophobia

Posted by Vynette on March 13, 2012

I’ve always been kind of a technophobe.  When our youngest child moved away I bought a Netflix account because I never did learn to program or use my DVD player.  My patience with anything with buttons is legendary.  For instance, if something doesn’t do what I think it should do immediately with one click, I’m SURE it will get the message and go faster if I start savagely clicking over and over like an obsessed person.  Doesn’t always work for me.  However, last year I’ve decided to hop on the e-train.  I started with an iPad, traded up to an iPhone, and scheduled into my Outlook calendar time to learn new computer software programs like Photoshop.  I’m learning how to find my roots by doing genealogy online, and I’m entering all my recipes into an e-cookbook.  And you know what?  I’m finding it’s not that hard at all, and I’m getting a real kick out of conquering each new skill.  Technology is just another tool to help us be more efficient and effective.  Maybe someday Iwill learn how to program the DVD player…
